About GenRates

Who runs this

GenRates is operated by the GenRates Research desk — an independent publisher with no ownership ties to any API provider, model developer, or reseller we track. We built this site because we were the target user: developers trying to compare per-clip grids, token formulas, and credit systems that were never meant to be comparable.

The editorial standard

• Every number carries its receipt. Each price links its public source and shows the date we last checked it. verified means we read the provider's published price ourselves; reported means a credible secondary source we haven't yet confirmed — reported figures are never headlined as “cheapest”.
• Rankings never touch revenue. Some outbound links are referral links (marked rel="sponsored" and disclosed in the footer). Sort order is verified price only. No provider can pay to move up a table — sponsor placements, when they exist, are visually separate and labeled.
• Automated freshness, human accountability. A pipeline re-checks provider pages every 12 hours; any price that moves more than 40% is quarantined for human review before publishing. Full rules on the methodology page.
• Corrections ship within 24 hours. Wrong or stale price? Email hello@genrates.com with a source link.

Use the data

The full normalized dataset is free, no key required: /api/v1/prices and /api/v1/cheapest. Attribution with a link is appreciated. Researchers and journalists: we're happy to cut custom views of the data — email us.
